Some people prefer to join discussions via a Web interface, others prefer the email-based mailing list.

I sometimes use the Technical/Authenticity forum and I think it's great, but I'm one of those who prefer mailing lists.

Wouldn't it be possible to offer an email interface that redistributes the content of the forums, if one chooses that? I - for one - would certainly join and possibly contribute more, and I cannot think I'm the only one who would rather receive the messages in the email rather than having to go on the Web

thanks!!

Diego,

About the best you can do is set the forum to "notify you" . You will then be notified via email every time a new post is generated in that forum.. To access this feature, log in as a user and then click on the forum you would like to subscribe to. Look for the "notify of replies" and click on it.. You will now receive email notification with a link to the post on the forum you selected(you will still have to access the forum to view the post).  If you don't' want to subscribe to a whole forum you can subscribe to thread in the same way..  Outside of this method, I don't think there is a way to mirror the CML format. Maybe Jeff can add to this?

HTH,
Lou

thanks for your reply, lou

yes, I've seen the "notify me of replies" feature, I've been using it and it's very useful... of course if the whole "mailing list" thing cannot be done, then it cannot be done... I'm just used to the Yahoo! Groups which allow that, and also some other forums/mailing lists I subscribe to (for example, the Jag-Lovers.org)... anyway thanks again
