I had a suggestion for our website.

I was reading some of Walt Brewers articles on engine rebuilding and just about everything else in several Self Starters.  I find them really helpful.  Since I inherited many of my Self-Starters, I find that I do not have all of his articles, and consequently, there are large gaps in my information.

I really think that all of our members would benefit from reproducing these articles on our website, where anyone could access them anytime they needed.

I would be glad to help in this endeavor.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the suggestion!

We would need to run this suggestion by several groups and individuals before this could be done:

  • Walt Brewer, to see if he would allow it
  • CLC Publication Committee, to ensure this is acceptable to them
  • possibly the CLC Executive Committe, for their approval

I will start the ball rolling.

There may be another and quicker solution.   You can order back issues of the "Self Starter" from the Indiana Region.  Ads for this service appear regularly in the "Self Starter".   The address for ordering a back issue is:  Lars Kneller, Indiana Region CLC, Inc., 3018 West Small Road, La Porte, Indiana 46350-7929.

I have been conversing electronically with Executive Vice-President Lars Kneller about this....

It turns out that the Rocky Mountain Region, Walt's home region, already has all of those articles, plus a whole lot more, on their Web site.

Check this link:  http://www.rmrclc.com/waltsWorkBench.html

I believe the entire flathead rebuilding series is there.

Thank you all so much for all checking into this for me.  I really appreciate your work and this excellent website.  I would be completely lost without the CLC.

I looked at the Region's website and I will now have several hours of enjoyable reading ahead of me.

Thank you again.
