Are you sure, Jeff? for some reasonI thought they were 2 3/4.

 2 3/4 is correct otto...measured the original us royal spare in mine....my bad, but 3 1/4 inch look just as nice...pictures of mine are on the whitewalls threas in general discussion.

Yes. I like the widest possible on mid 50s and earlier cars. mine are 4 1/4" in the photo.
