Better definition of forum sections?

Edit: after posting this I now look back at the list and this perhaps belongs in another section also.  Not sure why I thought to put it here.  I must not have read far enough to see that the suggestion section included the forum.

Every time I think I have it figured out a bunch of things get moved.   Some stuff is obvious that its in the wrong section but others Im not sure.   It does not bother me but it seems that it must bother some moderators and its then taking up some of their valuable time moving stuff.

My interpretation is that the General section is for automotive topics that are not related to a specific model and also dont need to be Cadillac Lasalle related.

Perhaps adding a new section and re naming the existing one would help to clear things up.   The General  section could named the General non automotive section. It would just be that an open section for general info about any non religious or political topic.  There are a lot of active users here so there would be a good chance for the exchange of some good non auto related info.   Perhaps make this section required to be registered to post?  Then the existing general section would get renamed to something like General automotive for discussions of things like our non cadillac daily drivers or the current state of the car makers or topics about motor oil.    The Tech section would be the same and just for Cadillac Lasalle specific topics.

I also like the way other forums do the for sale section where they divide it up.  Many have a section that is just members selling to other members.  They then have a section for things that members have seen for sale but are not selling the items themselves, ebay, craigs list, automart that you drove by down the street would all fall into this section.  Some also add a section for vendors to post specials or new arrivals.

If thats too complicated then just a better definition under the section header would help clear things up.

G'day TJ,

The first part of the Forum Rules is:
"This Message Forum is to be used only to advance the purposes of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club, which are to develop, publish and exchange information pertaining to Cadillacs and LaSalles, to encourage the maintenance, preservation and restoration of Cadillacs and LaSalles, and to promote social fellowship among Club members."

Even in the General Forum, there shouldn't be stuff other than Cadillac and LaSalle related items.

Sometimes other information is brought up, but we don't really want to talk about Mitsubishi's, Honda's, or Bicycles here.

Basically, there are sufficient Forums to handle what comes up at the moment I think.
