« on: November 15, 2009, 09:40:35 PM »
Hello All,

Sold my '47 Sedanette and now would like a 69-70 DeVille convert or would consider 71-75 Eldo Converts.
I am looking for a car that is turn key and correct. No projects please.
Willing to pay $$ commensurate with condition.
I live in So.Cal but willing to ship.
Please let me know at jagbuxx@att.net

Did you see this post?

Brian

Yes, I saw and bid on it but it past my reach now. Plus, I think I would rather have a car with more miles so I dont feel guilty when I drove it.  Years back I have a '72 Eldo coupe with 4300 miles on it. After 800 miles in 18 months I sold it so I could get a car i wouldn't feel guilty about adding miles to.
There is a 70 Convertible in Minnesota for sale at the Ellingson Musuem...wondering if anyone has seen this one up close...

There's a '74 Eldorado for only $8K in the latest Self Starter that seems pretty nice. It's in Encino, not far from me (not sure where you are). I could take a look at it for you. The seller mentions the car was "customized" by Hillcrest Cadillac for Ricardo Montalban. Doesn't say it was changed to fine corinthian leather  ;D. Nice looking Eldorado, not a common color, nice wheels, seems to be a more than fair price.

Anyway, some info in case you don't have the issue yet; John Strawway, 818.784.7488, strawway@gmail.com.

Thanks Chris-
I will inquire about that car-not my first choice. I'm only about 20-25 minutes from Encino-
Seems like this car was on ebay a year or 2 ago...

There was beautiful 1969 Colonial Yellow Deville Convertible posted by Nick Liarakos #25230 back on August 31 of this year. There are a large number of pictures and he has good documentation that goes with the car. I think the mileage was in the 70,000 range, so no "guilt" about driving her. I would consider the car, but my "cup runneth over" right now with 5 ladies to store for the winter. Good luck-Greg

Sorry you missed the Colonial Yellow Deville, she looked like a beauty. If you are not in a hurry, you might check with ViTO who posted pictures and information regarding a 1973 Eldorado Convertible on November 11. He said it was part of an estate and the car looked very good in pictures. It also is the soft yellow but with white leather and top. The mileage was in the low 20's and  any work needed appeared to be minimal. Might be worthwhile to check on it's status. Good Luck-Greg.

Frank,

I just took a look at your new baby.  Very nice.    If I may be so bold to ask what was the original asking number from ellingson?

Enjoy your new ride.

Of course,
it was posted at $21950. I had been eyeing the car for 2-3 months maybe while it was listed..
