I had all my levers recast in bronze then chromed, and the side plates and fixing bases re made in stainless. Originals are usually beyond chroming (on the rust buckets I end up with anyway) Cant remember what I did with all my crap original parts, Ill search the shop when I have an hour or two spare.

Marge Verdonne in Pennsylvania makes 1940 LaSalle hold downs out of stainless.  A friend of mine ordered a set and was very very happy.  You might give her a call (717-949-3341).  She and her late husband were regulars at Hershey for as long as I can remember. She still is.

Bill, As far as I can remember talking to the Verdonnes over the years they only had the lever on its own and not the accompanied hardware to make a complete latch, is this still the case?  also the 41 Had pronounced offsets each side, is this the case with the 1940?

A friend of mine recently bought a set from her .  Each hold down comes in 3 pieces and they have to be machined to eb put together to function as a complete hold down latch.
