1975 Fleetwood 75 Sedan Limo ???'s
« on: February 17, 2010, 12:31:06 PM »
We recently came across a fleetwood 75 sedan limo. I should say what we believe is. The door tag states it was manuafactured in 1974, the inside of the glovebox tag states it's a 1975 Fleetwood 75 Sedan. It has the glass divider. I've read the sedan's don't have the glass divider. I'm confused to rather what the actual make/model is of the car. We have never purchased a classic/vintage car. We are very green you could say. We are considering purchasing this, with no title ( as of right now) owner has no ideal of what make/model the car is. He acquired it through an estate. Can anyone help me identify what make and model this actual is, and also what it would be worth. Thanks in advance.

The 1975 models were introduced in September 19, 1974.    That is why it can have a production date of 1974.      If you look at the VIN number, the 6th digit represents the model year.   So it should be a "5".

The series designation for the sedan was : F23.    The limo was F33.

The series 75 limousines had the electric division window.  The series 75 sedans did not.   Most people called them Limousines however as they shared the same 9-passenger long wheelbase.

The Limos had a black leather front seat and black front interior trim.  While the rear compartment was cloth and was available in black Moselle cloth or Medium Graystone Potomac cloth.   The D'Elegance option was available but only with Blue Medici velour.  The series 75 sedans had the same front color and material to match the rear compartment.

A formal Landau roof was optional.  This included a padded vinyl top, deleted rear quarter windows, reduced rear window and landau bows on the rear quarters.    The landau bows and/or reduced rear window size could be omitted however.

Opera lamps were available at extra cost.

The ACRS airbag option was not available on the series 75 cars.   The Limousine was not available with the 6-way power seat or dual comfort seat option due to the center partion.

To add to the above post, 1 quick way to tell the difference from 1974-1975, 1974's had round headlights, 1975 had square (rectangle) headlights.

I am concerned with your comment that you are going to purchase the car without being provided a clear title.  At the very least, take the transfer documents to your bureau of motor vehicles BEFORE you give the seller any money.  Even better, meet the seller at the bureau of motor vehicles and exchange money after the bureau of motor vehicles assures you that they will transfer title once the documents are signed.  The seller is likely to be more inclined and motivated to be of assistance before he/she receives any money.
