The 2010 CLC Calendar
« on: February 02, 2010, 04:14:21 PM »
Hold the phone, I just discovered that is my 58 Eldorado Brougham's rear end on the front of the CLC 2010 calendar. I just placed my order for three copies! I want this calendar to set a sales record for the most sold! Charles D. Barnette-it of course goes for a worthy cause!

A nice rear end ya go there too! Ahem... I mean the car... um... anyway... I'm with you Mr. Barnette, I ordered a couple calendars and then found my car on the February page. Need to order a few more now, I didn't even get to keep a copy for myself!

My '55 Eldorado is "Miss June".  Already ordered extra copies.

OK you slackers out there -- order some copies -- it's a donation to the Museum
Fund!!!!!!

Read elsewhere on the site home page about the plans to establish the "permanent home"
for our museum at the Gilmore Museum site in Michigan!

I am rather partial to May's 1962 Eldorado, considering it is my car. Yes the calendar is great and supporting a good cause. The only comment I have is each member selected should have gotten one complimentary copy as a thank you. Other charities do the same thing, realizing that sometimes a small thank you goes a long way in gaining continued support. We didn't get a complimentary copy but maybe in future endeavors the powers that be will consider the potential in giving back to those who give to them.

I agree with this 100%.   I was not even aware that my car (1939 LaSalle convertible) was even in the calendar until my purchased calendar arrived in the mail.   I know that most everyone is always too busy to do so, but a little common courtesy in the form of a thank you note or email, and one complimentary calendar might have been a better plan.

The flattery of being selected, and the bragging rights, were enough to keep me happy in 2007. I'm just glad that there IS a calendar for this year, what with all of the changes in printers, etc...

My thanks to the "committee" for creating one so quickly, and such a great selection of cars.

A list of the 16 cars selected for the calendar was published in the thread listed below back in December. As the volunteer designer of the calendar, I thought at the time this kind of notification was sufficient, not listing the owners' names for privacy reasons. Apparently, it was not.

Some folks who submitted photos contacted me during the production process, and I responded at that time if their car was or was not selected for the calendar.

A huge THANK YOU to you Tim. Not only for all that was involved in creating and publishing the calendar, but from me personally, tanks for your time and patience helping to get the right size and resolution photo submitted.

I just received my copies of the 2010 CLC Calendar, and I believe it contains some of the most beautiful Cadillacs on the planet! I realize I may be a little prejudiced, since "my Baby" is on the front cover; but so be it! Tim Coy has done an outstanding job in designing it and well deserves our eternal thanks! This calendar is a collector's dream to be enjoyed for many years to come. If you have not bought one order it now, now, now! The building in front of my car on the cover is The Arkansas Municipal Auditorium in Texarkana, Arkansas. It is in the process of being restored. It is also where Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash performed in the "early years" of their careers as part of The Louisiana Hayride circuit. Elvis' first Cadillac, a 1954 Fleetwood, burned up between Hope, Arkansas, and Texarkana after Elivis had finished the Hope show and was headed back to Texarkana to spend the night. A Texarkanian helped save the bass fiddle from the fire. Then later as Elvis was coming to Texarkana to perform at The Arkansas Municipal Auditorium, his 1955 Fleetwood Cadillac in which he was a passenger was involved in a wreck near Fouke, Arkansas. The car (the most famous car in the world that he gave his mother and now sits in the Car Museum across from Graceland) had to be brought into Texarkana for repairs. Charles D. Barnette
