1957 Cadillac Eldorado Barritz Trim Tag Decoding
« on: February 14, 2010, 03:24:46 PM »
I just bought a 57 Eldorado Barritz convertible and need help decoding the trim tag.  The data on the tag is as follows:

Style No. 57-6267SX
Body No. FW 1476
Trim No. 18   E
Paint No.  90
Top 2   ACC.   EH

The engine number of this car is 5762031002.

Any assistance in decoding this for me will be very much appreciated.

Thanks!  Alan

 Hi Alan

My '63 master parts book only goes back to '60 for interior trim codes and none of the number are the same as the Brougham information I have.  The paint code I know.

Exterior paint 90 = Olympic White.

So that is part of the puzzle solved.

I'll add to the puzzle  :D

TOP 2 = Black top

HMMMM,  white with white and red interior. My favorite! Got any pics?

Lou

Lou,  Thanks for the info.  Your input plus the others actually match the car!  It is Olympic White with a red and white interior and black soft top.  A couple of pictures are attached.  Thanks again, Alan

Otto,  Thanks very much.  I mistyped the engine number (should have been 81002 vice 31001) but I got it anyhow -- 81,002 car built in 57.

Otto,  Your vendor list is extremely useful and much appreciated.  I have owned a lot of old Corvettes and have lots of sources for parts for them, but I have found Cadillac parts are a lot harder to find, at least NOS or reproduction parts seem to be.  Your list will come in very handy.  Regards, Alan

Glad to be of service. Your '57 doesn't look like it needs anything to improve it, though. The only thing that could make it better would be if it were a '56!  ;)

Mike,

F.E.N. of New York did most of the work.  The restoration was completed about five years ago and it has been well maintained and little driven since.  Alan

It's also the 1476th Biarritz out of 1800 built in 1957.
