We have decided to reluctantly sell our '32 Cadillac

This car has an interesting history.  It was built in December of 1931 and shipped to Don Lee Cadillac and used as a dealer display car.  The colors that are on the car, are in fact the original colors as per the build sheet.  From it was sold new until it was located in 1the 60's by LaRue Thomas (Thomas Cadillac fame) is lost.  LaRue found the car in a garage in Bakersfield.  I suspect the reason he chased this car is probably due to the low serial number sequence, this car has serial number 1200009 (beginning sequence is 1200001).

LaRue was building the largest Cadillac collection on the West Coast and gathered up every year Cadillac from 1903 to 1979 until the collection was sold off in 1994.

The Thomas group restored this car in the late 70's (I know this because Gerald Thomas [LaRue's son] spotted the car at the Palos Verdes Concours and spoke with me in great detail and even went back and found the records and copied what they had for me).

Sometime during the late 80's LaRue was contacted by the Peterson Museum (at this time, LaRue was on the board) to put together a display of a Don Lee Show room from 1932 and this car was one of the cars in the display.  This remained open for over a year.

When the collection was sold off in 1996, dad and I bid on this very car and thought we bought it.  For years I kept in contact with the buyer and after a time I lost track of it.  When in 2007, I just happened to be looking for a car to replace my 1933 Cadillac, I located this and immediately bought it.

Since then, I have made the car better then when I bought it,  I had splash aprons made,  located a correct fan shroud, replaced the fuel line with the correct line and fittings, rebuilt the carb (twice) and is now running a correct needle/float assembly made a restoration shop in Michigan,  installed new tires and tubes (with period correct valve stems), replaced the wiper motor with correct original, made the screws which hold down the fender storage covers (made 24 of each screw) and I'm sure I've missed something.  The chrome and paint are very nice considering it was restored around the late 70's (I think in reality, it was 1977-1979) and has about 12,000 miles on the car now

The only reason I am even considering selling this car is I have a possible line to acquire another car and I only have space for three cars (my wife and I have decided to keep our '56 Chevy coupe and '65 Corvette 396 Coupe and sell the '32 as she cannot drive it).

Based on the current market conditions, we are asking $55,000 for the car.

I forgot to mention a few things.  Shocked

I have driven this car great distances and it has never let me down, it doesn't over heat, oil pressure is great - 35-40 psi at 60 mph.  The colors are just outstanding and I've never seen one like this.  The interior is in really good condition, all material is lite blue bedford cord.  The brakes are excellent and don't pull.  The underside is very clean and is painted the primary color of the body.  You  won't be disappointed.

The Cad is located in Riverside Ca and ready for inspection or, test drive at anytime.

Thanks for the interst.
