what is a 1950 cadillac series 61 coupe with a manual transmission that is running and is in decent shape worth? I have done a lot of research and can not find much info on this series.

Hard to tell without more information. The link above should give you a guide. I assume it's a 2 door hardtop and not a 2 door sedan. The manual tranny drops the value somewhat.

What kind of shape is the body, interior, chrome? Does everything else on it work?

If all those things are rough it might be worth $6k. If all it needs is a wash and polish to be a really nice car, then maybe it's worth $12k or so.

Look at the condition guide on that site to help you get a more accurate assessment. Remember also that this economy has driven values down.

I don't know what it is worth.  However, these cars have always been fascinating.  They carry the smaller B body, like the Olds 98 or Buick Special, and should go like a bat out of hell.   I think the standard shift in fact enhances the value, I really wish my 47 convertible had the stick shift like my 41.  They are more fun to drive, and with the exception of an occasional synchro problem, these are great transmissions.  I would sure make an effort to bring it home.

Yeah I also love these body styles myself but I am pretty sure Otto is correct about standard transmissions.  I remember reading in one of books that the value of a car is less if it has a standard transmission versus an automatic.

Are you looking to sell or to buy it?   Where is it located?  Running condition?

If I remember right, the '51 Series 61 Coupe with standard shift was the fastest accelerating car available in the US.

This is the same car that Briggs Cunningham came in 10th at the 1951 LeMans with. To me it is worth a premium since most all of 1951 Cadillacs were equipped with Hydra-Matic.
