How much did the dealer quote for the part?

New GM Parts Co. lists a new intake manifold for $360. Use "manifold" as the key word after entering your car's ID on their website.

They might also have the trunk parts you need. A GM part number is very useful to find the exact part.

Click on the link in my signature for the contact information. You'll also find some other suppliers that might have the parts you seek.

Hi Frank,
Just a thought; Any local weld shop worth their salt should be able to silver solder.
 (harder/higher temp. resistant than brazing)
This would be as good as new for around 50 bucks.
Downside is -  possibly it has to come off to do it.

That size 12 doesnt taste very good.
Maybe I should read more carefully; I thought it was an exhaust manifold.
and yes; there is a kit that well equipped body shops have that is used to repair plastic and rubberized bumpers.
It consists of a soldering iron-like affair and you feed different types of filler rod into the crack and it melts
the two sides and rod together all at the same time. Think kit is around $200.00 and there are different
types  pf plastic rod materials.

Here's another winner when you have plastic parts that are cracked to be repaired.
take apart an oil filter - inside there is perforated tin. Cut a strip length-wize so you have a row of holes - say 6 long.
Make about 3 or 4 each, depending on length of crack. These will go 90 degrees across the crack - equal spaced.
On front of the cracked part, align perfectly and temporarily duct tape to hold.
Take one of tin pieces in needlenose pliers and heat red hot over plumbers torch.
go in back and press into plastic so bubble of molten plastic comes out thru holes.
Push plastic bubble tops down w/screwdriver tip to form the top of "plastic rivet." Fixed!
