1957 fuel tank

Hey all you 57 guys -

I just talked to Auto City Classic and they're re-popping the 1957 fuel tank!  No more $700 junk on fleaBay!!  Brand-new, dead-nuts PERFECT (like their 59-61 tanks).  From what I was told they're about 45 days out.  Man, this makes my day!

According to the MPB the same tank is used on all 1957 models including 1958 commercial chassis.

Does it fit the 57 Eldo with the rotary 3 wire sending unit?  David King is making a conversion module that allows a standard pickup to drive a rotary gauge.  Bruce Roe CLC #14630

Put the what what in the what what?

All I know is that the MPB lists only one tank for 1957.

Thanks Bruce for the mention.

As all things Brougham, it is different than the standard fuel tank.  The standard 57 tank has the depressions on the top, but  the holes are not pierced for the Brougham low fuel tell tale sender, fuel gauge sender, or electric fuel pump.

The module Bruce speaks of is for the Brougham fuel sending unit as it has a different electrical circuit than the regular Cadillac.  This electronic module allows the use of standard Stewart Warner sending unit which will drive the Brougham fuel gage and light the low fuel lamp.

The Brougham had its own Master Parts List and none of Brougham parts show up in the regular Cadillac Master Parts List.

I am in the process of getting a box made to hold the circuit board to complete the module project.  A different version of this  module will replace the goofy oil sending unit that worked the same way.
