gas tanks

Does anyone out there no where I can get a gas tank for my 39 LaSalle Coupe. Any help would be appreciated! I tried all Cadillacs of the Forties, no help. My tank is toast. Thank You, Kerry

I think that your only hope wold be Detroit Radiator (if they're still in business). They were specialists is rebiuilding fuel tanks. Check the 248 area code listings.

I recall a similar question in the past and the recommendation was another GM division which fit perfectly but wasn't 100% correct in terms of corrugations, etc. I'm sure someone will point out the whole deal. The search function above might help find the thread.

You might try looking at the new  tanks offered by Classic Car Auto Parts and see if any look close.

Hello I put a 1950 Chevrolet tank in my 1939 LaSalle 50 series Coupe,  it does not hold as much gas but it has been in mine for 3 years no problems.    You have to change the straps and you have to tweek the fit but it works and I think I paid about $250.00 for it.

You may want to try Tanks, Inc. You may find one that will work. I've bought 2 tanks from them, 1 for my '38 Chev and 1 for my son's '46 pick-up. They were very helpful.
