Help with 37 caddy clock
« on: March 12, 2010, 09:48:33 AM »
Hi all, have a picture of the clock from my 37-60 series car,i seem to be missing a peice,is there a fuse or something to go in the opening on the back, and where would the wiring be connected to,i do not know if it will even work, but i need it powered up right to tell.an other item i want is a proper face for my speedometer, the clock is from a caddy and the speedo is a lasalle peice, the lasalle part did not have the chrome rim in by the numbers, look at the picture and you will see what i mean,i would even take a broken speedo and try to use the chrome trim on mine,my speed o works fine, just has the wrong face,i am not using the caddy clock now as i have a matching lasalle one in the dash,it drove me nuts looking at it that way,i would trade the clock for a speedometer if any one was interested. Thanks Harvey B

Harvey, I am guessing that the shiny nut is sitting on top of a rubber insulator? If that is so, that would be the battery connection and the dull nut would be ground. I have no idea what goes in the bayonet piece.

I’m guessing the “bayonet piece” is the connection for the battery and ground, and the hole near the edge is for the dash light.

Also seen is the knob for setting the time and the pointer is for regulating the speed.  But you probably already knew that.
