My very first post... A momentous event.

2000 Dodge 1500 pick-up -- daily driver
2008 Toyota Sienna minivan -- wife's daily driver
1969 Dodge Polara 500 hardtop -- project car, engine sitting in garage, tranny coming out today
Desperately seeking a 79-85 Eldorado. My last Caddy was an 85 Brougham. LOVED that car.

Glad to see I'm not the only "Nut"!

But only guys like us understand....the people I work with think I'm crazy and my bosses probably think they pay me too much!

1963 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe Bought new by my father in Aug. of 63. Benton Blue with dark blue cloth interior, 20,000 orig miles needs paint, work in progress, not on the road.

1971 Ford Torino GT conv. 351C 4bbl Red black top black buckets, laser stripe. Comes out for a few shows in the summer.

1973 Cadillac Coupe deVille White with red leather.

1978 Chevy El Camino silver with red interior. 350 4bbl favorite "toy"

1985 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance Coupe white with autumn maple top and velour interior. Needs paint and headliner.

1987 Pontiac Grand Prix an original 80,000 mile survivor 95% original paint. only things new are battery and tires plugs cap, and wires. Even belts and hoses are original. White with blue landau and blue cloth interior.

1999 Chevy Tahoe 4WD 4DR Bought new 95,000miles white and blue 2 tone blue cloth interior.

2001 Chevy Blazer 2dr 4WD Black with graphite cloth interior. Great little fast truck.

2001 GMC W5500 Tool Truck.

Another comment on the importance of Midway.... The reason the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in the first place was that the American fleet posed a threat to their ambitions in Australia and New Zealand as their imperial expansion continued in the Pacific. Midway was the turning point in the war which put an end to those ambitions once and for all.

Stampie, this thread is interesting. I like to see what people who are into old Cadillacs choose for their more modern stables.

Perhaps the newest member of the forum, thought I had better list the other women in my life.---listed by age not beauty (as my 50 Caddy be the prettiest) 1916 Maxwell--working on the restore with parts car. 1926 Buick model 27 4 door sedan--my oldest driver. 1942 Buick model 47A--needs restoration but all there. 1950 Cadillac model 62 (see my post "MY NEW BABY") 1962 Corvair Monza convertible--a good driver in good shape. 1987 Chevy 2500 tow vehicle. 2004 40th anniv. Mustang convertible--the wifes driver. And two Honda SUV's--(blasphemy !! ) Mike Lotz

I currently own:

1970 Eldorado - white/dark brown top, nice driver I want to make show worthy.
1978 Coupe deVille - white with factory painted roof, white interior. Parked since 02. I will bring it back to life when I'm done moving every few years.
1979 Coupe deVille - brown/brown top. Driven regularly. Looks abused but drives amazingly and seems indestructible.
2008 Subaru STI - red.

Here are those in my family, from the oldest to the newest:

1932 Ford V8 Phaeton with RHD, "Ella La Deuce". Originally sold in Nepal, where I bought and had it restored in 1975. For Sale;

1949 Series 61 Cadillac Club Coupe, "The Green Queen". Owned since 1984. Driven frequently, including long trips;

1979 Volkswagen Rabbit. My daily driver, bought new, 300, 000 miles;

1998 Honda Civic. My wife's daily driver.

Previously owned cars, starting at age 16, have been: 1941 Ford V8 Fordor, 1948 Plymouth Convertible (the one I most wish I still had), 1949 Mercury Convertible, 1951 Olds 88A 4-door, 1951 Olds 88 4-door (took me and then my brother through college), 1955 Ford Thunderbird, 1964 VW Karmann Ghia, 1965 VW Beetle (lasted 14 years in the family), 1972 VW Type III and a 1977 Dodge Colt. Vehicles supplied by various employers for long-term, work-related use have been: a 1963 CJ5 Jeep, a 1966 Dodge Pickup and a 1972 Land Rover.

1951 Chevrolet Bel Air,owned for 28 years,is my first car(age 17) when purchased.It is done as an early 50's Custom.

1991 Cadillac Brougham(RWD).Used occasionally.Mostly,for Caddy shows and Cruise nights

1998 Chevrolet S10 Blazer LS 4WD.Used everyday for work and other things.
