1953 Fuel Pump
« on: April 12, 2005, 10:54:32 AM »
Hello: My 53 series 62 has a small fuel leak. I looks as if it is right under the filter bowl. When run for a while and then shut off, the bowl has little tiny bubbles in it. It seems to leak a couple of teaspoons each use. Need a replacement or something else? Many thanks, Jim

Jim,
Whats the part number? I might have one for you that is already rebuilt.  My 49 came with a 53 engine and a rebuilt, unused fuel pump.  You can have it for cheap.

Folks,

Remember that the new oxygenated gas fuels eat the old rubber, so an old rebuilt fuel pump is prone to failure using the new gas.

See the recent edition of the Self Starter for more info.
