There is a pretty good history of Cadillac "first" but not such a good history of Cadillac "last"
So here are some of Cadillac's "last" that was wondering about

When was the last year/model Cadillac built with

Chrome Bumpers?
Carburetor?
4 wheel drums?
Manual Transmission?
Factory Limo?
Front bench seat without armrest (non-commercial)?
Vinyl roof?
Two tone?
Points?
Single reservoir brake cylinder?
Vent windows?
Coupe body?
4 door convertible?
Bias tires?
Hubcaps?
am only radio?
Manual brakes?
Manual steering?

Feel free to add to the list.

Looking forward to the responses,

Lou Smiley

Convert. sedan: '41.

Manual transmission"  '53.

These refer to standard offerings, and nor aftermarket conversions, if any.

AM Radio-1969, 4 wheel drum brakes-1968 (front discs were optional), vent windows-1968.

When was the last year that a Cadillac could be had without air conditioning? I have seen a non-a/c 1969 convertible.
Was this the last year?

Carb would have been the Brougham in 86-89 for sure, 90 had an option of EFI, and I have been told a few early 91's (round body) got through with the 307's and carbs but never seen one in person.

I would guess the chrome bumper would also be the Brougham in 90 unless a few square bodies got out in early 91 also.

Carburetor  1990 Brougham with the Oldsmobile 307 engine

All-drum brakes 1968 (front discs were optional that year and standard the next)

Coupe  2002 Eldorado

Front seat with no center armest (non-commercial)  I'm making an educated guess that it was the 1976 Calais. I know that as late as 1973, the front seats of Calais coupes and sedans did not have them and I'm assuming that that continued through the last Calais year.

Non-power windows (you asked for additional "lasts")   1967

Four-door convertible (convertible sedan)  1941

Actually, the "round body" didn't come out until 1993. And even when that came, it still had chrome bumpers of sorts. And in 1991, the Brougham could be ordered with the chevy 305, which was still carbed.

The last year for hubcaps would be 1992, last seen on the Broughams.

The last year for the Coupe body technically would be 2002 when the Eldorado was discontinued, but the last year for a real (fullsize) coupe was 1985, the last year before the Fleetwood was downsized.

Rear Wheel Drive Eldorado 1966
Rear-wheel drive convertible 1966

You could combine those two

There were 67-70 deville converts just no FWD Eldo converts till 71.

So the last RWD factory production convet for a while (isnt there one now or fairly recently?) would have been 70.

Of course you're right.  The Eldorado Broughams totally slipped my mind (although I might get by on a technicality; I said "sedan doors" which generally is taken to mean framed doors and a center post, neither of which the EB had) and I was thinking only about the Eldorado when it came to RWD convertibles.  Two "middle moments" in one day.  Oh, well.

Have to disagree with you. I have a 1938 Cadillac-La Salle that had/has "wheel-Disc"on the wheels and " Hub Caps" on the front Hubs.

Last 2 bbl. carburetor - 1951

A technicality but 2 bbl carbs were used on 58-60 Cads.

Except that they were used three at a time.   Grin

I know many people dont think of the Cimarron as a real Cadillac but....
1982 came with 1.8L 4cyl 2bbl carb.
1982-88 Had either standard or optional manual transmissions (depending on engine & year)

I also noticed the 1.8 listed as a 'Cadillac' motor.  I never noticed that before, the chevettes were 1.6 ohc's right?  Everything else was a 2.5 that I remember.  The later optional motors for the Cimarron are listed as Chev's.

Jim:

The wheel covers that that were used in the thirties were started in 1932. They covered the wire wheel but a hubcap was still used. They are listed as Wheel Discs in the Cadillac Master Parts book((Group 22.0580) The large wheel covers used in the late thirties and later were also listed as Wheel Discs in that same group. The hub caps, the smaller cap that covered the center of the wood or steel wheels (Group 22.0515) was smaller than a wheel cover, about 8 inches in dia. These were last used to cover the steel wheels in 1953.That is what I consider a hub cap.

If a hubcap is considered the part that covers the center of any wheel,be it wire, wire cap, saber spoke, aluminum, magnesium etc., etc. then they are still being used today, and the last one hasn't been used yet!

The last Cadillac with a manual transmission is the 2008 CTS. Most of us will probably never see one, though.
